Vocational Training in Israel
 
General background:
One of the important instruments for expanding participation in the Israeli labor market and reducing unemployment in the long term is vocational training. Experience from many European countries indicates that specific programs initiated by the government with the participation of the business sector, trade unions, the self-employed and the employees themselves, have proved to be highly successful and attained these goals.In addition, we are interested in proposing a structured, operational program, to make these models applicable to the Israeli labor market.
Latest Publication in framework of that Project:

Summary for the year 2010:

  • Focusing on vocational training for adult workers and their integration in the Israeli labor market.
  • Organizing a delegation abroad (most likely to Germany) of 10 members of the steering committee, in order to study the European experience in the field.
  • Two professional seminars on the subjects, along the lines of the highly successful seminars held the year before.
  • The steering committee held a number of meetings for the composition of a concluding report and recommendations, and for the formulation of a final document summarizing the subject of vocational training in Israel, of both young and adult workers.
